Beds around hardscaping, buildings, trees, or free-standing beds bring that necessary beauty. These beds tie all aspects of landscaping -- hardscaping, lighting, a clean lawn, a beautiful house -- together seamlessly in one area of potential color and elegance. We at Seasons provide services to help you make these important beds a part of your landscape and the services needed to maintain them.

Design & Installation: Naturally flowing beds are an important aspect of a complete landscape. We can custom design these beds to compliment hardscaping, buildings, and trees. Areas that are to made into bed are void of all turf, weeds are controlled, and the bed itself can be raised using added topsoil. Edges are made in the turf to be clean and crisp so that mulch can flow naturally into them.

Mulching: Mulching provides rich color and texture that will compliment any landscape. By offering double and triple ground wood mulch in red, brown root, and black, synthetic mulch, or stone products, we can customize your landscape to fit your style and your budget. It is suggested that mulch be applied in the spring in a layer of two to four inches and again in the fall to provide extra coloring to last the rest of the year.

Prior to mulching, all tree pits and beds are shaped and edged. Shrubs, trees, and plants can be trimmed and pruned prior to clean up of debris. Optional weed blocking services can also be applied prior to the application of the mulch.

Weeding: Maintaining clean and clear beds is important in keeping the look of fresh mulch. Weeding of bed areas can be done prior to as well as after mulching. Pre-mulching techniques include the usage of plastics and applications of weed blocking solutions such as preen. Large areas away from plants and shrubs can routinely be sprayed with weed control solutions to keep your beds clean all season. Hand weeding can also be utilized in areas where spraying is not an option.

Spring/Fall Cleanups: Specialized cleanups of bed areas are suggested in spring as well as fall. These cleanups are necessary in keeping your beds clear while maintaining the crisp look of shrubs, plants, and trees. It is recommended that spring cleanups are preceded by a mulching in the spring as well as a light dusting of mulch to maintain color in the fall.
